I will help you school your Momma about traction alopecia (a form of hair loss) According to Wikipedia, "Traction alopecia is a form of alopecia, or gradual hair loss, caused primarily by pulling force being applied to the hair. This commonly results from the sufferer frequently wearing their hair in a particularly tight ponytail, pigtails, or braids."This condition is growing concern among children that wear tight braids and ponytails. A lot of mothers love to glam up their baby girls and it is a good thing but it can end up in disaster.

Neonatal jaundice Jaundice is the medical word used to describe a yellowing of the skin and white parts of the eyes (sclera). Neonatal jaundice is a very common condition – around 60 per cent of babies born at term and 80 per cent of babies born early (prematurely) develop neonatal jaundice.It usually develops on day two and three of life and generally fades away by the end of the first week of life. In the majority of cases, jaundice is harmless and fades without treatment. A very small number of babies can develop more significant jaundice that requires treatment. Treatment is needed because extremely high levels of jaundice can damage the brain and cause problems.

For Mothers who requested this. The part of your baby's head that looks like it's breathing is called a soft spot or medically called a fontanelle. A baby's skull is not fully closed during the period of development and during birth, it moulds so that the head can pass through the birth canal. A baby has two soft spots: the top of the head (anterior fontanelle) which closes around 12-18 months and is more visible to mothers. The posterior you which is at the back of the head but not so visible and closes up around 8 weeks. So please it is not abnormal and it's not a disease. If anything is wrong with it, a health professional will look at it and let you know. Don't tamper with it and don't try manipulating it.I hope this helps us all. Fret Not!
